No, I agree with mark - syndication cannot replace publication, and publication cannot replace syndication.  </p>\n<p>Though, I think it's interesting to watch the thought experiments and the \"what ifs\" as <a href=\"http://www.decafbad.com/news_archives/000331.phtml#comments\">Anil commented</a> - and while I sense some eloquence in both approaches, neither answers all the demands placed on each.  Hopefully, what dabbling in overloading one could provide is a little insight into enhancinging the other.
